Voice search, a relatively new idea of two years, has made major strides. The newest version works with Android 2.2, better known as Froyo. Google’s desires were beyond their capabilities until this moment. Using speech models, Google hopes to identify with its customers on a personal level by accommodating Android enthusiasts around the world regardless of their limitations – whether it be age, race, gender, or even as specific as variations in pitch and pace.
This Voice Search milestone is achieved by today’s launch of personalized recognition. Not every user is forced to climb aboard, as it allows the user to either allow it or deny it. Using your Google account and the words that Google has saved to it, they create/build a personalized speech model just for you. The more the Voice Search is used, the greater the recognition accuracy as time allows the user to build a greater accuracy.
Afraid that opting to take advantage of this great achievement will take too much precious time? Fret not, my fellow Android enthusiast. Just using Voice search will prompt you to either allow or deny Personalized Recognition, and then it’s happy speaking from there. Are you curious about the availability and requirements? As mentioned above, it is available to all Android 2.2 platforms in the United States.
Currently, only the United States and English are supported, but Google plans to support many other countries and languages in the near future. To get started, follow these easy steps: Download the latest version of Voice Search from the Android Market, or from our app database here. Hit the source link for more info!
