The HTC Desire Android phone first launched across the UK last month, and since then has proved to be a huge success, with the device currently out of stock with both T-Mobile and Vodafone.

UK online retailer Play.com have this week listed the device as available for pre-order SIM free for only £399.99, with an expected release date of April 16th.

Powered by Android 2.1, the HTC Desire Android phone includes an 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, a powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, and the impressive HTC Sense user interface.
