Ever since the initial talks about Adobe Air on mobile platforms, the market was breathing heavy with the thought of video conferencing. While we are still waiting for this feature to come out from AIR, GotoMeeting and even WebEx, Fuze Presence has now announed their new video conferencing platform. What makes this so cool is the multi-platform aspect. if you watch the video below, you’ll see how Fuze has taken their platform and integrated it seamlessly into not just mobile platforms, but PC and Mac applications, as well.

According to the press release:

The meeting host will access his or her account from a web browser or can meet from a downloaded app on their mobile device. The host will then start a meeting, enable video conferencing and watch the attendees conveniently access the video conference.  In just two clicks, the host can initiate a video meeting quickly and easily.

The presser goes on to say that the video conferencing through Fuze will allow for full 720p video streams, which has been previously unheard of.

While we will still have to wait until 2011 to officially see how well Fuze will function in the real world, the implications made by this are exciting. Before Fuze Presence technology, video conferencing was an unreliable desktop-only experience with low video quality, and poor latency.  Fuze Box’s innovation moves beyond the current video collaboration space with H.264 codec technology that includes multi-partycollaboration delivered at 720P, while maintaining the highest fidelity and under 200 ms latency. The technology also includes VoIP, screen sharing, content sharing and a full suite of collaboration tools in the experience. The Fuze Presencetechnology is currently optimized for 8 video participants at once.

Fuze Box’s technology is designed to take the difficulty out of online meetings by offering a hassle-free alternative that puts enterprise users face to face on any screen with a full suite of collaboration tools at their fingertips.Since1998, Fuze Box has been awarded 22 patents around telephony and collaboration with an additional 44 pending. Its flagship product, Fuze Meeting, has been recognized for transforming tablet computers into business devices and for its cutting edge HD video and image capabilities –positioning the Fuze Presence technology to be the perfect combination of communication, collaboration and visual excellence.

“Our strategy is based on two facts. First, the meeting room of the future will be a virtual one and something you can hold in your hands. Second, people will want more device choice, not less,” states Jeff Cavins, CEO of Fuze Box. “We are browser, platform, device and network agnostic and whatever mobile or desktop device someone is considering purchasing, we’ll already be there”.
