T-Mobile To Double Their US 3G Network In Anticipation Of Android

Over the next month T-Mobile plan to double their 3G coverage across the United States, a move that coincidently covers the launch period of Google's HTC Dream/G1 handset.

T-Mobile aim to add Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle to it's current offering of UMTS/HSDPA served areas by mid-October.

Currently, Baltimore, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Minneapolis and New York are already part of their 3G service area. With New York playing the host for next week's official T-Mobile Android unveiling.

T-Mobile's 3G service area is expected to top some 27 metropolitan regions by the end of the year.
