Froyo on the Defy coming Q2 2011

Motorola has updated it software update schedule, and Defy owners may not be thrilled, as they’ve still got a bit of a wait for Froyo (Android version 2.2, in case anyone reading this doesn’t know, but that seems unlikely).  According to their new schedule, the Defy — their super-sturdy, nearly indestructible, waterproof phone — won’t be getting the 2.2 update until the second quarter of next year, for the European and Asian versions.  Latin America may still see it inQuarter 1, but there is no word on the North American version at this point.

So hang tight, Defy owners!  Froyo is coming, just not as soon as you  probably want… but isn’t that case for most of us, really?  At least we know they’re actively working on it.

Q2 ’11. Good to know. End of June can’t come soon enough.

Question is, will this be ahead of the Fascinate Froyo update??

Unfortunately experience (as an ex-milestone user and my other half had a dext) I wouldn’t hold your breath. Moto have a habbit of either failing to deliver the goods, or doing a huge u-turn when it comes to updates.
My bet is the defy 2 will already be out with 2.2 when (IF) this update ever sees the light
