We’ve heard it a million times before: Gingerbread is going to be released on X date. I don’t know about you guys (and gals), but I’ve kind of given up trusting the news about Android 2.3 and am now of the mindset that when it’s out, it’s out.
Well, for those of you who still want to cling to some shred of hope that a story about the release of Gingerbread will hold true, we have a new date to bring you – December 6. That’s right folks, reports are coming in that the next version of Android will be released on December 6th, and it’s based off of Andy Rubin’s scheduled appearance at D: Dive into Mobile.
Really though, unless you’re the type to flash custom ROMs (or you own a Nexus One), the chances that you’ll see 2.3 right away are slim to none thanks to the beloved manufacturers. That being said, however, I am fully expecting 2.3 to drop sometime in December, so stay tuned folks.
