Sprint Hero maintenance release 2.32.651.2 now available

Sprint Hero owners, you may want to check your phone for a maintenance update which has started rolling out today. You can check this manually by heading to Settings > About Phone > System Updates > HTC Software Update > Check Now on your device.

The update brings the version number up to 2.32.651.2, but again, this is just a maintenance release, so not much going on here. If you’re a Hero owner and you have trouble downloading the update, leave us a comment below.

First off there is no option for “HTC Software Update”. Only Firmware Update, Update Profile and Update PRL. I assume we are talking about a firmware update here. I tried to update the firmware and my phone says there is no update available. I also tried to update the other 2 and got the same no update available message. This is the second time I have seen a report saying there was an update for my device. Both times left me disappointed.

I have tried the “Settings > About Phone > System Updates > HTC Software Update > Check Now on your device” multiple times today and it says “There are no updates available for your phone.”

Are they only updating a certain number of HTC Heroes per day?

I’m getting the “no updates available” message too.

i got an update. it added the sprint zone application which is just basically a waste of space to give you short cuts to your account, sprint news and suggested applications. nothing special.

Just got the notification in my status bar and downloaded it in 2 minutes. Not sure whats different, or what it fixed.

I still get the No update available message. Is this a regional roll out or something. I already have the Sprint Zone app preinstalled. Half the time it says that is has crashed when I turn my phone on.

Downloaded but will not update. Phone restarts and hangs on the white HTC screen, end up having to pull the battery every time.

An update appears but the download fails because it says the file is corrupt.

I downloaded the update 2.32.651.2 (13.77mb)but it did not complete install. Probably cause I rooted my hero, in order to remove bloatware.
But, I do not know for sure why install failed.
I am kinda glad it failed 13.77 Mb LOL no thank you.

silly people, can’t get authentication with a custom ROM/Kernel. It needs to run the HTC Software check via Sprint ROM.
