The masses have spoken in round 1! The winners of round one of the Ultimate Android Throwdown are:

    I voted for the Mytouch 4G. Cus its pretty cool, and nicer than the G2 imo. I swung by one of the local Tmo stores to check out the MT4G, G2, HD7 and Galaxy Tab. Currently I have a Vibrant which I like a lot(recently loved), and the MT4G might be a good enough phone for me to sell my Vibrant. With HSDPA+(currently I get 6.0Mbps top speeds), physical buttons, the Front facing video camera, and Wifi Calling, 2nd gen Snapdragon(longer battery life), and LED Flash for rear camera. Sounds pretty good to me. This was called Ultimate Android Throwdown not Miss Android USA. Besides even if it was a beauty pageant, the G2 would be far from winning. I think the Vibrant is a much better looking handset than either the G2 or Mytouch 4G.

    Samsung Fascinate TIED with Incredible in Round 1. So why was it eliminated from Round 2? How was the tie broken? Or did you just not notice?

    @supralance In an after hour vote, due to the tie, one of our editors finally got his vote in for the incredible. The poll was already closed, so we couldnt add it in. :)

    MT4G FTW. Easy. The black version is gorgeous. And it out performs the slower G2.

    Sad part about this entire “throwdown” is people don’t take benchmarks, comparison tests and hardward specs into consideration. They just vote for the phone they have. I bet if the G1 was in this competition you’d have a bunch of people voting for it just because they have it.

    G2 is a perfect example. Its been out longer than the MT4G so more people have it. So it gets more popular votes despite what the MT4G can do.

    Lame.

    I have both Mytouch 4G and G2. Both phones have their own pluses and minuses. I really like the physical keyboard on the G2 (though it’s not the best) but it’s the sexiest looking phone to date imho. On the other hand the Mytouch 4G doesn’t look as good or sexy (but it’s still looks like a premium device) but it has some other nice features that you can’t find on the G2. If you want me to vote honestly it would be really hard and that’s why I’m keeping both lol. By the way just for your information…the G2 has a much better screen. The colors are just and viewing angle are just much better than Mytouch 4g.
