This day and age, everyone has at least four different social networking and email addresses that they’d like to share information to from their mobile device without having to repeat the same steps over and over and over. I’m one of those people.
I, like many others with an Android device, admire the ingenuity put into the Android OS. However, I have to say that there’s one feature that seems to be overlooked by the developers over at Google: the ability to utilize the awesome tools…and share them to all your online profiles and emails, in one click.
I imagine it to be something similar to the Gmail app, in the sense that when you see your list, you can select multiple emails to archive or delete, then simply press a button.. Likewise, I want to be able to pen my photo album, select a single or multiple photos (or videos), click “Share” and be able to “check off” every social and online profile I wish to upload the file to, again, with a single button.
I know there’s other tools you can use to “syndicate” or “push” your uploaded file to your social networking profiles. There’s pixelpipe.com, which has a lot of options, but no option to email. There’s Ping.fm, with many options as well, but not email options either, and even less options for networks than PixelPipe. Honestly, these are a pain in the behind to setup online, and even more of a pain trying to keep all your online logins and sharing sites in check. Like we don’t have enough logins and passwords to remember!
I have to admit that I’m surprised this hasn’t been added to Android 2.2, or even 2.1 for that matter. I’m really hoping they include it in Gingerbread. If Google doesn’t add this as a default integrated part to the next major OS release, I guess we’ll just have to wait for our open-source developers to build it…hopefully.
I just want things to be easier…I mean, isn’t that what technology and mobility is supposed to be doing for us to begin with? What are your thoughts…good idea or useless?
