This could be the Galaxy F (aka Galaxy S 5 Prime), launch now expected to be in September

Over the last several months, we have heard a flip flopping of sorts regarding the Galaxy S 5 Prime. Some rumors indicate that will be the exact name of the device, while others have indicated that it would fall into a new line called the Galaxy F. Back in March, JK Shin said there wasn’t a higher-end Galaxy S 5 in the works, which probably is a strong indication that it will be the Galaxy F, even though it may look very similar to the Galaxy S 5.

Now today, an image of the said device leaks and it is referred to as the Galaxy F. The phone does resemble the Galaxy S 5, but there is one major difference—-the back. It looks like it could be brushed metal or it could also be a lot like the LG G3, which is plastic, but has a brushed metallic look. So no band-aid look, but the it appears they adopted it for the front of the device. It will supposedly sport a 5.3-inch 2560 x 1440 display with a Snapdragon 805.

The other piece of news is that it won’t launch until September and that it could replace the Galaxy S line altogether. Earlier rumors indicated a release this month, but this report seems to indicate that it might get announced at the same time as the Galaxy Note 4, which is usually at the annual IFA conference. Now Evleaks says this rumour is unconfirmed, so I would take it with a grain of salt. We are likely to see a Galaxy S 5 Prime or Galaxy F, but its doubtful the Galaxy S line will go away.
