According to the folks over at Android Spin, it looks like the new OTA for the MT3G works on the G1… after some tweaking, of course. The brilliant minds over at XDA-Developers have managed to rip out the OTA and slap it on the G1, and according to reports, it’s pretty slick.
There are warning out, as always, that doing this may brick your device, cause your phone functions not to work, mess with the radio, kill off the SPL, and generally make your G1 explode. However, these are warnings we see on just about every piece of custom anything. Chances are your device will be fine, and the tinkering will be well worth it.
