As most people have heard today, Samsung has announced the Samsung Continuum Android smartphone to be launched through Verizon Wireless. The announcement came at the Samsung Event in NYC earlier this evening, and attendees were given an opportunity to get their hands on the device, and get us some details.
The Continuum is the latest addition to the Samsung Galaxy S family of devices, sporting a sleek gloss black casing, with a 3.4 inch Super AMOLED screen, 1 GHz processor, and Android 2.1. I know, I know…why didn’t they launch with Froyo? They did state the Continuum will be updated soon.
The biggest highlight of this device is its ticker. The Ticker will display date/time, RSS news, appointments, reminders, notifications, and text messages to name a few. No doubt we’ll hear of some developers hacking the ticker to display any information you want…hopefully.
Here’s a hands-on video to check out.
