Asus is one of the latest manufacturers to admit they are focusing on Android development, despite working on a Windows Phone 7 device.
Many other companies also seem to be hanging on the fence to see just how these mobile OS wars pan out in the popularity game over the next quarter.
Marketing manager at ASUSTeK South Africa, Steven Tu stated the following;
…We see the potential of Android platform devices, so we are focusing on Android platform currently
We’ll see how this pans out by the end of the year, but we already know based on numerous stats and polls done over the last month, that Google’s Android OS is gaining enough momentum to propel itself to the top, and stay there.
