We probably are about 3 months away from an official unveiling of HTC's followup to the One, and today is just the beginning of what will probably be a ton of leaks regarding the “M8”. M8 is the codename for the next iteration of the HTC One (M7).

Early leaked images are never greatest quality, but one thing we can tell from the back cover is that a fingerprint scanner will be implemented. This is obviously not shocking since the One Max was their first device to sport one. However, it does appear they are going to place it on top of the camera lens this time around.

It also appears that the overall design will continue with this year's theme. This could indicate that HTC is opting to follow suit with Apple and Samsung by doing redesigns every two years.

Of course these images are most likely from a prototype so it doesn't mean the final product will look exactly like it, but it does give us an indication of what HTC is thinking for their next flagship. This is just the beginning of many leaks, so hang tight.
