Digitimes is reporting that Google has notified its partners that the next version of Android is nearing completion, and that tablet PC engineer samples are set to show up in December.
Analysts are predicting that Android 3.0, codename Gingerbread, will allow the OS to take away a greater percentage of the tablet market share currently dominated by Apple’s iPad.
Those sources are also predicting that the costs associated with adopting Android versus that of adopting Windows OS, a difference of $40-50 dollars in favor of Android, will also play a role.
