Tethering sucks, at least in comparison to MIFI. I have 3 PCs in my household, all of which might need to be online at any given time. My ideal, cost-effective solution is to buy a smartphone with a 5GB dataplan that can act as a MIFI device, similar to the Sierra Overdrive or the Novatel MIFI 2200.

If this "Verizon Third Android Phone" fulfills the hyped promise, then I simply MUST have one.

An Android phone that will officially do wifi-tethering!? (not via a 3rd party ROM)

That has my attention!!

If only it was the Sholes/Tao/Droid that was doing it. THAT would make it just about the perfect phone (Android or Maemo, dedicated number row on a physical qwerty, dpad, clean/sleek look). The only thing that would make it better is a 4.1" screen ;-)
