My ideal, cost-effective solution is to buy a smartphone with a 5GB dataplan that can act as a MIFI device, similar to the Sierra Overdrive or the Novatel MIFI 2200. If this "Verizon Third Android Phone" fulfills the hyped promise, then I simply MUST have one. Tethering sucks, at least in comparison to MIFI. THAT would make it just about the perfect phone (Android or Maemo, dedicated number row on a physical qwerty, dpad, clean/sleek look).
