Acer Android Netbook To Launch This Quarter

Android Android NetbookAcer's first dual-boot Android netbook is expected to launch this quarter according Bob Sen, managing director of Acer Japan.

The netbook will ship with both Microsoft's Windows and Google's Android operating systems, although eact details on the netbook's technical specs are not currently known.

Speaking to IDG News Service in Tokyo, Sen commented that:

"Acer is not going to launch with a single OS, Android, It will be dual-boot, Android with Windows"

"Worldwide I expect to see the product launch in Q4"

The Acer Android netbooks were first showcased back in June at the Computex exhibition in Taipei.

  3. Is it just me, or is there no point in an Android netbook at the moment? I just don’t think the interface works that well with a mouse pointer (slide out trays etc), and there’s very very little productivity software that would make a netbook useful.
