A new Toshiba tablet has popped up in benchmarks recently, and while it isn’t a high-spec’ed tablet, it could definitely make some waves in the 7-inch category. The benchmarks show the tablet sporting a mediocre 1024 x 600 resolution screen powered by a 1.6 GHz processor with an undisclosed amount of cores and a Mali-400 GPU. It’s going to be a 7-inch tablet, so uber-high resolutions aren’t necessarily a given, but it looks like Toshiba has put just enough processing power to make that type of screen work. It’s going to be running Android 4.2.2 out of the box, but no word on if that will be stock Android or a skinned version.

AnTuTu benchmarks give the device a score of 17,639, which is respectable for an entry level device. If Toshiba can price this right, they might just have a hit on their hands, especially as we get closer to the holiday season. We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as anything else becomes official.
