Verizon may deliver NFL content

Verizon is in talks with the NFL to deliver content to its customers through a dedicated app.

The hype right now with tablets leads many to believe that the app will likely be designed to function within a tablet form factor rather than a smartphone, but we’re pretty sure it’ll look just as good on a sweet 3-inch Android device on a 4G network regardless.

“The NFL will be on a tablet,” said Brian Rolapp, the NFL’s senior vice president of media strategy. “It’s a question of what shape or form. We are currently talking to Verizon about it.”

With the increase in tablet releases and 4G networks in the works nationwide, we can expect to see many more companies improving or creating apps to deliver mobile media content to satisfy our hungry entertainment appetites.
