*cough* I would believe the “with Google” bit if not for the Droid Eris
The higher grade Magic.
Is branded “with Google” on the battery cover JUST LIKE the MT3G and does NOT have a “with HTC Sense” branding like some others… but yet both the shipped cupcake and eclair update where Sense….just sayin’

UPDATE: Okay, after more “intense” reading I have definitively determined the differences. The MyTouch with 3.5mm jack, also referred to as the 1.2 version is the 32A version which has 288mb. This phone is essentially exactly like the HTC Magic but with a TMobile proprietary ROM. The older TMobile MyTouch without the 3.5mm jack only has 192mb of RAM. I often answer my own questions.

I have been reading many forums and still find myself confused or perhaps people have posted inconsistently incorrect information. I have a MyTouch 3G 3.5mm and I was wondering if I have 192mb or 288mb of RAM? Here is my information.

Seems also ironically the Google Ion phone not having “With Google” on the back should be able to get the Sense UI.

Actually the reason why the Google branded phones will not get the upgrade is because they are 32B phones with only 192MB RAM. People who have hacked the Magic (32A and 32B) experience significant performance difference between the two. The 32A handsets include:

I’m pretty sure the Rogers Canada handsets are also without the Google branding, as are a few other European Countries.

Great news. Luckily my HTC Magic doesn’t have the “with Google” branding (Orange Poland).
