Philips V808 Android Based OPhone OS Handset

Earlier in the week we brought you news of the Philips V808 smartphone that was rumored to be powered by the Android platform. Today more information on the handset has surfaced and thanks to google translate we now know that the handset will run the Android-based OPhone OS and will be a China Mobile exclusive.

Just like the other Android-based smartphones from China Mobile, the V808 will be powered by the OPhone OS which will see some popular Google apps like the Android Market removed in favour of China Mobile's own services - a move that isn't exactly welcome by the Chinese community.

Little is currently known about the Philips V808 hardware, although the device won't include 3G, WiFi, or multi-touch support.
