HTC_One_Announcement

All the speculation and rumors can now stop as HTC officially unveiled the new One smartphone in both New York City and London this morning. I can say that it’s one of the best phones ever made with it’s metal construction. It features a 4.7-inch 1080p LCD 3 display at 468ppi, a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage, 4 UltraPixel camera, and so much more. The biggest part of the announcement was concentrated on the new Sense 5 (on top of Android 4.1), which includes BlinkFeed, Sense Voice, Sense TV, BoomSound, UltraPixels, and Zoe. Just what do these things do? Check out our full hands on video from the New York show highlighting the hardware and the cool new features of Sense 5. HTC is calling this the greatest phone ever made. What do you guys think? Hit the break to check it out.

It looks nice, but…. First, I don’t care for big ass phones. Second, I’ve had really bad experiences with HTC phones in the past in the quality control department. This and any other HTC phone will have to prove itself before I’ll waste money on another one. I remember how HTC left their customers spinning in the wind on problems they acknowledged, but wouldn’t fix. Their answer was for us all to come out of pocket and buy their latest phone, supposedly free of bugs, at full price. Turns out it had as many problems as the one I had. HTC – thanks, but no thanks.

It is 4 megapixels. The picture produced has 4 million pixels. Which are 2 micrometers, instead of the normal 1.1-1.2 macrometers in most cell phone cameras. Get it right, people.

Love the hardware design, but the home screen UI is reminiscent of windows phone live tiles.

Like M42 I’ve run into after sales and bugs issues with HTC, and they’ve left me hanging in the wind – fool me once and all that. I’m gonna pass and see what the galaxy s4 has to offer next month.

The HTC One is one of the best looking phones, especially with that metal body. I really like that it has a 1080p display. I watch shows on my phone quite often, considering the only time I really get to is on the trip home from work at DISH. I think that the 1080p display paired
with the DISH Anywhere app on my phone, which lets me stream my live and recorded shows anywhere I am, should make for a fantastic combination.

Htc One brings Htc back no doubt. Now it’s Samsung’s turn.

I love the design and look, it’s a gorgeous phone. The only problem I have is with Sense 5, not really my thing for a lot of the features shown, but I have no issues with using a custom ROM to get me on stock Android.

I really like the design of the HTC One. I heard recently that it takes them 200 minutes to cut and process the outside of each phone, that’s quite a long time.
