T-Mobile UK ends HTC Desire Froyo update due to language error

It would seem that the UK Dell Streak isn’t the only phone suffering from OTA update woes today. After discovering that they released the HTC Desire’s Froyo update in German, T-Mobile UK is suspending the update process until an English version can be prepared.

Users who have already received the German 2.2 update will be given the opportunity to download the proper version when it is available, which will hopefully be coming soon.

Update: Some of our readers have let us know that only a few applications seem to be in German, while the majority of the phone remains in English.

As far as I can see it’s only some hard coded links in some of the bloatware (mobilboxpro, t-mobiles mediencenter) that link back to the german language portions of the t-mobile’s internet services. Everything else on the phone appears to be localised to UK english.
