T-Mobile says it will cover 200 million Americans with LTE by end of 2013

It turns out the nation’s third largest carrier has some exciting plans up its sleeve for the new year. T-Mobile has just announced via Facebook that it expects to have 200 million T-Mobile customers covered by the end of 2013.

“Ready to go even faster? LTE will reach 200M T-Mobile customers by the end of 2013. SHARE if you’re excited.”

T-Mobile currently relies on its HSPA+ 42 network to provide quick download speeds, though blanketed areas are few and far between. Regardless, 200 million is quite an ambitious start for the only major US carrier without an active LTE tower.

Just 200? Makes you wonder how they stay in business.

200! That’s like 60% of all US Tmo customers. Sweet deal.

Hope they use a frequency higher than 1700 mhz so my nexus 4 might actually get lte :)
