Well, better late than never, yes? Rogers has finally lit the green light for the Android 2.1 update for the HTC Magic + and the Samsung Galaxy Spica. The Magic + is receiving it via a conventional OTA update. The Spica, however, requires a bit more work.
Owners will have to download the update manually from their computer, and connect their phone via USB in order to complete the upgrade. While not an overly painful task, it seems a little bizarre that the Spica is being denied the usual OTA update we all know and love.
On the bright side, users of these devices are finally getting a taste of some yummy Eclair. We have no idea when they might get to wash it down with some Froyo, but if I were you, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
