The HTC Hero will include the new HTC Sense widget based user interface. According to HTC’s John Wang, “HTC Sense is a holistic experience that put people at the center by simply making things work as they should”.
The HTC Sense UI will allow users to position their ‘at-a-glance’ information directly on the home screen.
The HTC Hero is clearly geared heavily towards personalization, and with the new profile feature known as ‘Scenes’, users will be able to create and switch between different phone profiles for different moments.
Your Hero becomes a weekend phone that helps you relax with your choice of tunes, catch up with your favorite friends and capture some memories with HTC Footprints™. And when you go on a trip, your phone becomes your personal guide and gives you instant access to local time, weather and maps.
The HTC Hero will also include a full screen flash player, a first for an Android device. It was also revealed that the white model will include an industry-first Teflon coating to keep it clean, along with multi-touch and anti-fingerprint protection.
There’s no word yet on pricing, but the HTC Hero will be available in Europe from July on the T-Mobile and Orange networks, followed by Asia in the Summer, and the US later in 2009.
More HTC Hero info and video footage is expected shortly.
