Google Play To Get More Movies and TV Shows From New Deal With Twentieth Century Fox

Google announced on their official blog that you will soon be able to buy and rent over 600 Twentieth Century Fox titles in the Play Store. This is a major victory for Google as they are trying to compete with the massive content banks owned by Apple and Amazon. This new deal means that Google has a partnership with all six major film studios in the US, which could make the Play Store a more viable option for consumers.

Now when Google recommends something you might like, they could recommend Family Guy, X-Men or Black Swan. These titles should become available in the coming weeks, but starting today, you can already buy Prometheus, three weeks before its release on DVD or video-on-demand.

For now this partnership will only benefit Play Store users in the United States with the promise that other countries will come soon. Are their any titles you are excited about watching on your Android devices?
