Sony Ericsson, makers of a wide range of Android devices, including the recently released Xperia X10, has announced their goal of becoming the world’s largest supplier of Android phones.  Ericsson currently enjoys 17 percent of the global market share, behind an unnamed rival (Motorola? HTC?) sitting at 23%

Chief Executive Officer Bert Nordberg made the statement at a briefing in Beijing, although did not give a time frame for when this takeover of the global lead might occur.

    As much as I love SE, they’re going to have to come OUT with a phone that at least has a current Android build..

    @JessSayin:

    Not only that, they need to produce more models with more variety of specs. I’d say out of Sony Ericsson, Motorola, HTC, and Samsung, that SE is near last place as far as generating excitement for new Android products. Look at all the buzz around Motorola and HTC.

    I love this! (sense the sarcasm) If SE really want to be the largest supplier if Android phones, they are going to have to improve their OS release cycle.
    Yes, they can make attractive looking hardware, but there is plenty of room for improvement.
