At some point in early 2013, many developers will receive their beta version of Google Glass, but designer Diane von Furstenberg (and others) are already using them to record preparations for the upcoming DVF Spring 2013 Fashion Show. They also plan to use them during the show as well.
Google co-founder Sergey Brin said, “Beauty, style and comfort are as important to Glass as the latest technology. We are delighted to bring Glass to the runway together with DVF.”
Diane von Furstenberg also added, “I am so excited to introduce Glass to the fashion world and use this revolutionary technology to give everyone a unique perspective into fashion.”
This is the first time that we know of that anyone outside of Google is using Google Glass for real-life testing. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear about a few other situations such as this, maybe a movie or television show director?
Google and DVF plan on releasing what has been recorded this Thursday, September 13th through the DVF Google+ page and Google’s YouTube channel. They will also stream live images and video during the actual show this spring.
