Yes me too, I live in london, and get bad signal problems, I just travelled 4 stops on the overhead rail (walthamstow to Chingford, and could not send a text or make a call. HTC sort this out my Orange Hero is so lush I dont want to have to scrap it. I had a really old orange spv before and always got full bars wherever i went.

Same thing here. I phoned Orange too and they've offered to replace my Hero for me. But since my HTC TyTN II didn't have these issues on Orange I suspect the problem is with the phone itself. It's disgraceful that HTC would put out a phone that, while being beautiful, works so so poorly as a phone!

I used to have a Nokia 5800 on T-Mobile and always had full 3.5G signal. Two weeks ago, I got the HTC Hero (also on T-Mobile) and I don't get 3G reception at all!

I received a Hero from Orange last week excellent piece of kit which I love.
Like the rest of you I have a huge problem I cannot make or receive phone calls due to the very poor signal strength, which drops all together more often than not.
My old Viewty was also poor but never dropped calls.
To their credit Orange have offered to change out the phone after seeing the problem first hand in their shop.

Its a pity that HTC cannot hold their hands up and admit that they have a serious problem. Perhaps a few hits in the telecom press will wake up HTC before an otherwise excellent piece of kit gets the big E

Good luck to all!

Got my Hero on Organge today. Although I can't make a proper assessment yet because I haven't had it long, my signal has been fine.

In addition to bad signal - I get huge fluctualtions while standing still -= I have a sim free phone on Orange UK network. I contacted Orange in their shop where there was a signal booster - didn't get full signal - other orange phones around me did - contacted HTC - told to talk to seller - seller said they compared it with another handset and the same signal was on both - must be a phone or firmware problem -hopeful for upgrade soon - apart from that I love the phone.

I've got an HTC Hero on T-mobile and I find the reception poor compared to my preivious HTC Tytn II (also on t-mobile). When I complained to T-mobile they said that they had not received similar complaints with the handset yet. I'm sending mine back until they can get it sorted out as I can barely make a phone call at home now.
