Earlier today, ViewSonic issued a press release officially announcing their first endevour into the Android tablet market. We featured a story about this device a few days ago, which has brought a bit of bad press for the company.
Many rumours have been confirmed to be true with the press release today. ViewSonic will indeed be releasing a 7-inch tablet with both 3G and Wireless capabilities. The company also confirmed that the device will “support instant messaging, text/mms messaging, VOIP and standard voice calls all in a single device.” The device will also feature dual cameras, which means mobile video calling is a definite feature.
This is certainly a tablet that has caught my eye today. My only worry is how the screen will match up to the likes of a Samsung Galaxy Tab and its Super AMOLED display. I am sure we will hear more about that, and everything else this device has to offer, from the IFA 2010 event this week, where ViewSonic will be demoing it.
