According to industry sources, Acer plan to launch their first Android powered handset in November of this year.

Acer have previously revealed that they will be releasing an Android smartphone in 2009, but have to-date only confirmed that the device will be available during Q4 of 2009.

Industry sources close to DigiTimes.com revealed the information adding that Acer’s recent promise to launch 9 smartphones in 2009 could soon see them overtake Asus in the smartphone markets during 2010.
