CTR of Android vs Apple

On-line advertising network Chikita has ran the numbers and calculated what percentage of advertisements are clicked among iPhone, iPad, and Android users. As you can see above Android has come out on top with users clicking ads 1.187% of the time, that’s 81% more than iPhone users who only click their ads .654% of the time. With 1.4 million Android phones being sold a week, I don’t think it is very difficult to convince businesses to advertise on Android, but this can’t hurt.

Maybe the Android ads aren’t as crappy and so more liable to be clicked?

NO, android ads are more invasive. I always click them by accident.

I never click on ads… but some of the Android Developers put up a row of buttons for a few seconds – the buttons slide out of the way and give way to an ad when you try to click on any of them.

One of the non-mobile optimized websites I manage received 35,000 mobile visitors over the past 80 days. We see an even larger discrepancy between Android and the iPhone for ad Click Through rate(CTR) for Google’s AdSense ads. The AdSense ad CTR was 120% higher on Android versus the iPhone. Android’s CTR was 20% higher than the iPad’s.
