According to an insider reader source at EuroDroid, Samsung Germany has released an email newsletter outlining new plans for an improved battery case for their Galaxy S line. The improvements, of course, come in the usability department, as the newsletter states that the new battery adds 8.5 hours of talk time, but this chunky new battery and housing come at the cost of sacrificing some of the device’s cosmetic appeal. But, if you’re looking for better battery life, it could be a good trade-off.

What do you think? Would you sacrifice some of your phone’s slim-ness for an extra 8.5 hours of use? Let us know in the comments!

Err, wouldn’t the most logical thing to be: just make a larger battery?

This looks like a power extended pack fueling more power to the device via the USB port on top. Smart idea; better if its ruggardized, can combo as a protection casing.

Honestly, I don’t know why other manufacturers don’t do this. But like M says, why not make a higher capacity battery in the first place. The battery is pretty compact as it is…

Ifthey make phones with bigger battery it will make the phone look ugly and you don’t want a ugly looking phone.

My Captivate has by far the worst battery life of any phone I’ve had. Even my dying 3G iPhone ran better. If they made this for the Captivate — no matter how ridiculous it looks — I would buy it in a heartbeat.

    30. I’ve been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before
