Sprint 4G reportedly turned on in Ft. Lauderdale

We’ve received a tip for a Ft. Lauderdale, Florida resident that he has noticed an increase in his mobile download speeds. Ft. Lauderdale is slated to have 4G switched on sometime this summer, so this seems likely to be true, especially with the Epic being released at the end of the month. So, if you’re a Ft. Lauderdale resident with an Evo, please leave your comments below and tell us if you’ve noticed a speed increase.

Driving on I95 from Commercial Blvd. to Broward Blvd. 4g is working. Speed tests with FCC Speed Test available on Android Market is showing 2.9Mbps Download and 1.3Mbps upload. Any further North of Commercial or South of Broward the 4g cuts off. Sprint Technical Support states they don’t know of any 4g towers up in the Fort Lauderdale area so they are not of any help.

I live in north lauderdale and I work in coral springs no 4g at all I have the samsung epic love the but no 4g at all called sprint and the said to make the most of my 3g and that all this is B.S. what’s the point of paying $10.00 a month for something I can’t use I’m having 2nd thoughts about sprint! Sprint this is not a good look!

I live east of Davie Blvd between 441 and 31st and my 4g is not picking up signal at all. Still waiting, this is why I bought the 4g phone. This is not right.

Just finished Chat with Sprint CSR re my inquiry when Fort Lauderdale will be complete. My 2 yr contract is up this July and that’s around when the CSR was told all of Fort Lauderdale will be finished. “6 months” to be exact.
