Huawei’s sales to Sprint to be called under investigation

Huawei, a maker of Android devices, is to be called under investigation by eight United States Senators. Apparently, their sales may breach national security. They go on to argue that a company that provides too many “evil” countries economies, such as Iran and China, should not be allowed to sell inside of the states. They go on to say that “At worst, Huawei’s becoming a major supplier of Sprint Nextel could present a case of a company, acting at the direction of and funded by the Chinese military, taking a critical place in the supply chain of the U.S. military, law enforcement and private sector.” Paranoid much? I, personally, think that this is ridiculous, but who knows?

What do you think? Is this real, or just making a mountain out of a molehill? Tell us what you think in the comments.

LOL OMG is this funny! Here, lemme fix this:

They go on to say that “At worst, China’s becoming a major supplier of The United States could present a case of a country, acting at the direction of and funded by the Chinese military, taking a critical place in the supply chain of the U.S. military, law enforcement, public and private sector.”

There, now that’s something to to worry about.

Looks like the time to worry is NOW.

Not sure what’s worse … that armican military & law enforcement would use consumer grade communcation devices “out of the box” (as these senators would imply) with no security/safeguards or that military & law enforcement are not able to retain competent staff to inspect/vett and install security to any communication device where sensitive material may or may not be at risk. Aren’t senators who want to be vocal about technologies they dont understand a bigger risk to the security and well being of the US?

Also, the supply chain of the US government, military and law enforcement is already under the influence of a foreign nation … RIM is Canadian.
