Warranty Claim may net you a Droid 2 or Incredible

A warranty claim for your phone may net you a newer, better Droid. There have been a couple instances so far that a user with a Droid Eris, and another user with a Motorola Droid 1, have been able to get a Droid 2 or Droid Incredible as a replacement for their broken phone. This is not to be confused with insurance claims, which will happen if you run over your phone with your car (is that even possible?). Warranty claims are for defective devices, not ones with smashed screens. This isn’t officially confirmed yet, but there’s no reason why Verizon wouldn’t do this, since the Droid Eris and Motorola Droid are now officially EOL devices.

    Can not confirm this report.

Just called Verizon, because my Droid Eris is getting slower and slower with no additional software on it… I am getting a replacement Eris. She said she could offer me another phone with the ‘pre-owned certified program’ or so, but they do not offer the Droid Incredible nor the Droid 2 via that program yet…

In my opinion the Droid Eris is a very good phone, only the CPU is way too slow to actually use it as what it is – a phone. It just takes too long to answer or place a call… And friends tell em it takes forever for me to pickup the phone, even if it rings just once on my side…
