It’s official… Android’s gaming cred is now legit. Rockstar Games, fresh from their Grand Theft Auto III near-sweep of the TegraZone Player Choice Awards, announced yesterday that Max Payne Mobile for Android will be released in the Google Play Store for $2.99 on June 14th. That’s just a few days away! Of course, this is a bit later than originally announced.
According to Rockstar Games, the game is optimized for Android devices, featuring HD graphics, high resolution textures, gamepad support, customizable controls, and more. The one kink is that the game will be released for a specific list of devices, presumably those that performed well in testing. Whether other devices will be added with future updates, we’re not sure, but it’s a good bet since we don’t see the Samsung Galaxy S III on the current list, and I’m sure the pitchforks and torches will be out in full until it’s supported.
Here’s the current list of supported devices. Glad to see all of mine are listed
Supported Android Phones: Motorola Razr, Razr Maxx, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC Rezound, HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Droid Incredible 2, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung S2, Samsung Galaxy R, Sony Xperia Play, Sony Xperia S, Sony Walkman Z Series Media Player
