Go Home 1

Google Navigation is one of my favorite things about Android, and it has helped me out more times already than I can count.  If you travel a lot, especially to unfamiliar places, here’s a great tip for placing a “go home” shortcut” on your home screen for instant navigation from wherever you are.  Follow along with the images for step-by-step instructions by continuing after the break.

Go Home 1

First, tap your home screen and select “Shortcuts”, and then scroll down to “Directions and Navigation”.

go home 2

From there, you’ll need to enter your home address into the Destination box and select the method you’ll be traveling, in this case, by car.  You can name the shortcut anything you’d like, but something simple like “go home” is probably best.  Then press save, and you’re ready to go!  This isn’t exactly rocket science, but we figured it was a nice little tip for those of you who didn’t already know about it.
