AT&T To Launch HTC Lancaster Android Phone
The guys over at Engadget have managed to get their hands on some leaked slides that detail an upcoming AT&T Android phone known as the HTC Lancaster.
The HTC handset will feature a G1 / Dream style QWERTY keyboard slider, and more importantly include a HTC developed user interface rather than the standard Android UI that can be found on the previous HTC Android phones.
The HTC Lancaster will feature a 3 mega-pixel fixed-focus camera, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and microSD memory expansion.
According to the leaked information the HTC Lancaster handset has a scheduled launch date for August 3rd, but it appears that HTC's decision to use a custom UI may delay the release date.

that’s disgusting. i wanted that phone when i saw the leaked roadmap, why at&t? hmm well i’m with t-mobile, no reason i can’t find a cheap one online in about a year and just get root & unlock it. good to know i can hold on to my G1 for about 1.5 years before i choose to upgrade, however i’m hoping something a little hotter appears on my carrier by then!

p. to the s. …um, first AND second! boo-ya! and also, to anyone who hasn’t put 2 & 2 2gether, that phone will probably carry the ‘rosie’ build, which has obviously been developed w/ HTC widgets and TouchFlo-y-ness.

Don’t expect to use 3G with T-Mobile: they use 1700 and 2100 MHz bands for UMTS/HSDPA.
