Vodafone UK Abolish Roaming Charges This Summer

Vodafone UK have today announced that they will be abolishing roaming charges across Europe this summer.

The trial will be available to Vodafone customers on the Pay As You Go and Pay Monthly services who have opted into the network's free Vodafone Passport initiative.

Current Vodafone customers can sign up to Vodafone Passport free from tomorrow, either via the website or by texting the word 'Passport' to 97888 for monthly subscribers (2345 for Pay As You Go)

From 1 June to the end of August, Vodafone Pay as you Go and Pay Monthly customers will be able to call, text and send picture messages to friends and family back home from over 35 countries knowing that it will cost exactly the same as if they were in the UK. For example, a customer on a plan with 600 minutes and unlimited texts who opts in to Vodafone Passport would use these minutes and texts when they are on holiday with no extra charges.

The three month trial will begin June 1st and run until the end of August.

Please note: Data use abroad is still subject to roaming charges, and isn't covered in the trial. So please keep this in mind if you plan on taking your HTC Magic abroad with you this year.
