Verizon Finally Begins Rolling Out Android 4.0.4 to the Galaxy Nexus, Grab Your Flashable Zip Now!

Yes folks, the time is finally here. Verizon has officially begun to roll out the latest 4.0.4 update for the Galaxy Nexus. You rooted users are lucky and don’t have to wait for the OTA to hit your device because the amazing developer named Droid Th3ory already has a nice little flashable package for you. Once flashed, you will be upgraded to the official build number of IMM76K and will get new radios and bootloader in the process. The update requires that you are on the official 4.0.2 (ICL53F) build but lucky for you if your not, Droid Th3ory has worked his magic and his script will revert your build to the required version before flashing the new build. Pretty slick huh! You should definitely drop by to pay the man his due respects and while you are there, check out his amazing line of custom Axi0m roms. You will not be disappointed! They just happen to be the only thing that I will run on my Galaxy Nexus… Just sayin’ :-)

Grab the download below and flash through your custom recovery. That’s it! The wait is finally over!

Is this stripped down version of the update? ‘Coz the actual update zip is of ~40 MB size while this one is ~6MB only.

Ok so do i have to root my phone or can i just update or should i just wait for my OTA update

So to confirm, 4.0.2 bootloader and both basebands are 4.0.4 leaked.  This will work?

  • Stacy B

You must be rooted in order to flash this. This is the official build as sent out by VZW today. The zip has been modified with a script that will flash the new bootloader and temporarily the older 4.0.2 build before updating to 4.0.4. Simply flash in recovery and that is it. Radios and bootloader, no extra nonsense.
