Android Powered Digital Photo Frames

Japan’s Macnica Inc and Fujitsu Software Technologies Ltd have joined forces to develop a “Software Platform for Home Network Digital Photo Frames,” software that is based on the Google Android operating system.

The Android powered digital photo frame will be exhibited at the 12th Embedded Systems Expo (ESEC2009) from May 13th, and will act as an example of the kinds of digital home appliances that incorporate Android as their embedded platform.

Macnica believe that the Android platform will help to fill the demand for high value-added embedded devices that can be developed both cheaply and in a short period of time.
