It seems as if the firmware for the European Samsung Galaxy tablet has leaked, and is finally giving us some clues as to what the device has in store.   The firmware has a build date of August 10, 2010, and features some of the following important details:

  • Screen resolution 480 x 800
  • Camera Max resolution 2048 x 1536
  • Camcorder Max resolution 2048 x 1536 (unconfirmed)
  • Front cam Max resolution 240 x 320
  • CPU Profile ARM11
  • CPU Core S5PC110
  • CPU speed 1.0 GHz
  • Flash
  • GPS
  • Wi-Fi
  • SyncML support
  • Swype
  • JavaScript 1.5
  • Bluetooth
  • Android 2.2

The only thing that seems a bit unusual is the 480 x 800 screen resolution, which is slightly confusing on a 7 inch device.  Hopefully this aspect is subject to change, but for now we’ll stay on the lookout for more information as it becomes available.

It looks like this has the specs to be eligible to get a 3.0 upgrade, and I would be really surprised if it didn’t get it eventually. So the resolution issue would at least be solved then with Gingerbread’s 1280×760 resolution support on screens over 4″.
