If you have a rooted phone, or even a small interest in any kind of Android development and hacking, chances are that you have heard of CyanogenMod. It’s a custom ROM for rooted phones, and the latest (Froyo based) CM6 RC3 is now available for download on your Nexus One.

Feel free to download it at the source link below, and – as always – we take no resposibility if your device becomes a glorified paperweight, so backup first!

@None: While CM6 is available for a plethora of phones (including me Hero, which just hit RC1 this morning), this article is focusing on the fact that the RC3 available on the CM site is, as of now, only for the Nexus One. :)

I’m currently running RC3 and it’s much more stable than I expected. 720p support with the stock kernel that CM6 comes with ran around 22FPS for me.

I flashed WildMonks Kernal and OC’d to 1157 mhZ and ran at 24 FPS =). Definitely a good release. Now that RC3 supports 720p, no more nightlies for me.
