No your eyes to not deceive you, what you’re staring at above is the Droid 2 live wallpaper happily churning away on my T-Mobile Vibrant, which obviously, isn’t a Droid 2.
What witchcraft did I use to enable this handy trick? Well no witchcraft here, but credit goes to those crafty guys over at the XDA forums. The process is terribly simple:
- Download and unzip the live wallpaper apk: Droid 2 live wallpaper.zip
- Take the apk file and put it on your phone’s microSD card
- Using your favorite file manager (like ASTRO) navigate to the apk and tap on it and install
- Back at the homescreen, simply long-touch your background, choose wallpapers, then live wallpapers and select your freshly installed Droid 2 live wallpaper!
The only thing you’ll have to keep in mind is if your phone doesn’t play nice with non-Market applications (Like my AT&T Captivate) then you’re not going to be able to do this.
