Download & use the Droid 2 live wallpaper

No your eyes to not deceive you, what you’re staring at above is the Droid 2 live wallpaper happily churning away on my T-Mobile Vibrant, which obviously, isn’t a Droid 2.

What witchcraft did I use to enable this handy trick? Well no witchcraft here, but credit goes to those crafty guys over at the XDA forums. The process is terribly simple:

  1. Download and unzip the live wallpaper apk: Droid 2 live wallpaper.zip
  2. Take the apk file and put it on your phone’s microSD card
  3. Using your favorite file manager (like ASTRO) navigate to the apk and tap on it and install
  4. Back at the homescreen, simply long-touch your background, choose wallpapers, then live wallpapers and select your freshly installed Droid 2 live wallpaper!

The only thing you’ll have to keep in mind is if your phone doesn’t play nice with non-Market applications (Like my AT&T Captivate) then you’re not going to be able to do this.
