Custom ROMs may be coming to the Droid X soon. As you all know, Motorola signed the bootloader on the Droid X, making it nearly impossible to flash custom ROMs to the device. But nearly impossible doesn’t mean it can’t be done. A dev named “Birdman” has loaded a custom recovery onto his Droid X. He is now working on ADB (Android debug bridge) to get a fully working recovery that would allow him to boot back into Android. From there, if Nandroid backups are possible, and he can write a new /System image, then the impossible would have been achieved. Godspeed, Birdman. Godspeed.
