Droid Charge to receive software update, includes Verizon Remote Diagnostics Tool

The Samsung Droid Charge on Verizon is scheduled to receive a much anticipated update in the immediate future. Among the items of change is the addition of the recently released Verizon Remote Diagnostics Tool, which enables Verizon remote access to your device for the purpose of educational demonstrations and troubleshooting. Let’s not forget that Verizon made it very clear that they will not be accessing your device without your permission. The rest of the change log is as follows:

  • Updated UI
  • Device is enabled with the Wireless Alerting System
  • No longer receive a notification pop-up when using Mobile Hotspot
  • Device allows for USB tethering while in Wi-fi mode
  • No longer lose data connectivity when the USB cable is connected or disconnected
  • Easily view data activity with the Wi-Fi icon located in the status bar
  • Complete calls without experiencing choppy audio, clicking noises and/or one-way audio noises
  • Resolved “no tones” dial pad issue, allowing for easy access to voice mail and other automated systems

Additional updates to the Google Play Store, Gmail and VZ Navigator are also to be enjoyed. Let us know what you think when you get it.
